Mon 29 November

Another great rowing session on Sunday morning. Starting at 7am, three crews took to the water.

Great conditions for a row on Denmark River.

This morning Mark cycled in just after I had opened the shed. I had decided that it was necessary to put a third coat of opal white on boat 2 and started by giving it a light sand. Mark sanded the new stroke footrest and mixed up two pack primer to give it a coat.

Strokes footrest primed.

He then went on to paint the three other footrests with non slip deck paint on the front surface.

Non-slip with grit in the paint on the footrests.

I painted the hull while Harry and Mark had tea and fruit cake. I didn’t want to stop until I had finished.

We had the Special General meeting for the amalgamation of the Denmark Community Rowing Association with the Denmark Riverside Club in the evening at which we unanimously voted for the amalgamation and the cancelation of our incorporation so that we can base our operations out of their magnificent club house in the centre of town.

The skiff is ready to turn over tomorrow but there has been such a lot on that I haven’t got around to organising a lifting crew. We’ll aim for Thursday.

Cheers Dave
