Thursday 10 November

We have had a couple of well deserved days off and have gone back to the old routine of working on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. On Monday I did come in briefly when I was returning the PA system to the Denmark Community Resource Centre and leads to the High School. I met up with Graeme Bain, President of the Riverside Club and Geoff to nut out the next steps in amalgamating the associations which resulted in booking the Riverside Club for a Special General Meeting for Denmark Rowers on Monday 28th November at 5.30pm.

On Tuesday we did get together in the shed to lift boat 2 off its trailer and turn it over so that it was ready for painting. We had a good turn up including Geoff’s visitors from Queensland. After a cup of tea and some lamingtons I was left to have a good clean up in the shed.

This morning I picked up JP’s orbital sander and vacuum cleaner and brought it into the shed. Before anyone rolled up I had made a good start on sanding the hull. Rovie and John I and later JP joined in sanding the bits I couldn’t get to. We had it done by morning tea when Harry joined us to eat more of the mini lamingtons.

Sanding again!
Ready for the paint.
Mixing up the two pack primer.
Rolling on this time after JP had brushed along the plank lands.
John I tackled the footrests.
On it goes quite easily.
All done.
And the rudder.

After we had cleaned up I made sure that St John was ready to go out this weekend and fitted the seat cushions. It looks a bit wet and windy for those who would like to take advantage of Sally Ward’s expertise.

Ready to go this weekend.

Have a good weekend, see you on Monday.

Cheers Dave
