Friday 14 October

I’ve had a long day in the shed and I took a few photos so I’m going to keep todays post short and mainly photographic.

The rest of the masking tape removed and cleaned up.
Cutting the tenon joints on the beams with a router proved more trouble than it was worth. I went back to the pull saw.
JP and I screwed the bronze keel band into place after rounding the ends.
Rounded end hopefully above the roller bumper on the trailers.
JP’s countersinking worked well.
We had quite a process – drill twice, vacuum, add varnish, screw in brass screw.
Nearly done.
Finished.
Fitting the rudder upside down.
The finished boat bar a last coat of varnish.
Veronica working on the breasthooks.
I cleaned up the tenon joints and dry fitted the beams.
The hollow bungs taped up to be filled with epoxy.
End of the day glueing, filling the bungs.
Glueing stretched to glueing the outer gunwale scarfs.

I also belt sanded one of the gunwales on boat 2 this morning while I was on my own. A good days work.

Have a great weekend.

Cheers Dave
