One month to launch day!

I started out on my own today which in contrast to yesterday was a return to winter with rain and a max of 12 degC. Sanding the gunwale in boat 2 in readiness for glueing on the blocks soon had me working up a sweat. JP joined me and sanded the cox and bow seats with his noisy sander. We had a cuppa before starting the glue up. As JP said, there had been a lot of effort in creating the blocks and deciding where to place them which had gone on before we could reach this point. The glueing went well as we got into the groove of glueing up and clamping in place each block. We nearly ran out of clamps. The leftover glue was used to glue the boat 2 rudder yoke into position on top of the rudder.

Not many pictures as we were both glued up during the process. Clean up.
Bristling with clamps.

After lunch I went to our nearest big smoke, Albany, to get some screws and bolts and more primer paint as well as a couple of sample cushions for the rowers. These are in the form of kneeling pads from Bunnings and are used by other clubs. Good to be thinking ahead to rowing.

Cheers Dave
