Thursday 14 April

After I had opened up Colin arrived back fresh from holidaying in his caravan and wanted to get cracking but no sooner had we taken the clamps off plank 4 than we had visitors. Sal B had given me warning that her son Olly and his friend Otto were keen to get involved. I gave them a run down of what we had done so far and Olly was all over it as he had been watching Leo Golding YouTube videos on restoring Tally Ho (Highly recommended if you want to understand traditional wooden boat building). 5 year old Elouise not so much.

JP arrived and started cleaning up the newly scarfed plank 5 ready for a trial fit while Colin got on with preparing the plank lands on the previous plank. I had to leave them to it as I had to go off to the doctor with a swollen elbow resulting from a two week old bee sting. As I left Adrian arrived. I was away quite a while and had nipped into IGA for more teabags and some hot cross buns as it is Easter this weekend. When I got back the others had made good progress but had had morning tea and didn’t want to stop again for the buns.

Nobody wanted to stay late today so we called it a day around 12.30 and will finish off preparing plank 5 on Monday. There isn’t much to do so we should get it glued on then.

A good fit for plank 5
Nearly there.
A beautiful boat shape is appearing.

Happy Easter everyone.

Cheers Dave
