Tuesday 18th October<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adrian was the first in this warm morning. It was going to be another milestone day as I had asked the members for help to turn boat 1 back over so we can put the finishing touches to her. It then went a bit quiet as Adrian went ahead with the cox’s seat supports. I sanded the edges of the oar blades which I had covered with epoxy to cover the foam core yesterday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lesley arrived bringing a tray full of her home baked date muffins. She had another shot at sanding the rudder for boat 2 while Veronica finished shaping and sanding the breasthooks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People started arriving for the turnover just before 10.30 and Erica brought a cake. We had enough people to lift her and Clem and I had laid out a tarp on the gras to roll her over on. So up she went and out and over and then back in the shed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adrian got his supports glued in and all the frames were sanded and ready when everyone had packed up leaving me to make the bow seat supports. I finished those and glued them in as well as the beams and the cox’s floorboard support frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ll glue the outer gunwale on tomorrow and shape the thwarts. There is quite a bit of resin coating to catch up on and we could paint the oar blades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
