Thursday 15th September<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The intention today was to possibly glue in the first inwale batten on boat 2. When I arrived with the unopened box containing the glue sent from Boatcraft Pacific I was very disappointed to find that instead of Bote Cote E-Epoxy there was a two part pouring foam kit in the box. I rang Boatcraft and they were incredibly helpful and promised to send out the epoxy glue straight away and send a courier to pick up the foaming epoxy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a happier note, Harry and Kay had picked up the paint after a stuff up on my behalf. They had kindly agreed to run this errand while they were in Albany yesterday. Unfortunately I had given them the wrong shop, sending them to Neville’s Hardware rather than O’Keefe’s Paints. It was sorted out and we now have our paints which have very generously been paid for by Nick Miller of Global Autocoat, our latest sponsor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adrian, Nick, Paul W and later Dr John got to work sanding the glue in the plank lands inside boat 2 so that they can be faired with filler. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nick also cleaned up the glued scarf joints, one of which hadn’t quite turned out the way we wanted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Veronica and I light sanded the varnish work on boat 1 with 400 grit wet and dry, used dry. Later I trimmed the ends of the inwale batten to fit into the bow and stern stems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At morning tea we planned our roster for manning the sausage sizzle outside the SUPA IGA on Saturday. I went and had a look at the raffle prizes that Kay has been amassing. She has done extremely well sourcing gifts from local retailers. She even persuaded Harry to dig out a couple of his contraband jigsaws to go into the three prize boxes which are worth buying tickets for. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
